EXTRA Yachts announces the sale of the first unit of the X70 Shadow to a European client. This is a 21-meter GRP planing yacht, with delivery scheduled for 2027.
With a design featuring unmistakably EXTRA Yachts traits, the X70 Shadow stands out for its sculpted volumes and industrial design–inspired geometries, resulting in a vessel capable of adapting to multiple usage scenarios. The line will soon be expanded with larger models to meet different market needs while maintaining the same design philosophy. The X70 Shadow was conceived as a true day boat, ideal for day trips, quickly reaching a bay, or providing a fast connection to the mainland. At the same time, this model can serve as a genuine support vessel for a mothership. This first unit currently under construction will be configured precisely as a support vessel, with two jet skis and a 6.5-meter sailing boat housed in the spacious aft cargo area, which offers a surface of approximately 40 square meters.
Versatile lower deck and wellness
Below deck, the layout includes a double guest cabin with en-suite bathroom, a galley, a crew area with two cabins and a dedicated bathroom, as well as a full-beam gym located in the central section. A distinctive feature of this space is the natural light provided by the large floor-to-ceiling aft window, directly overlooking the cockpit. The gym can be accessed both from the exterior and from the lower deck corridor. When required, this area can be transformed into a lifestyle space thanks to freestanding furniture, offering additional flexibility on board.
Open-air social spaces and integration
The exterior design features, on the main deck amidships, a large convivial area equipped with a service unit including an ice maker, sink, grill plate, and refrigerator, as well as a generous dining area convertible into a lounge. On both sides, fold-down bulwarks expand the usable deck space and open up the view completely to the sea. It is precisely this area that represents the essence of the X70 Shadow: a project that blends the experience typical of a leisure yacht with the pure functionality of a support vessel, creating a new segment of boats.
Navigation, accommodations, and performance
At the extreme bow are the helm station and an enclosed dining area with 360-degree panoramic views. In the “pleasure” day-boat configuration, the project can be developed as an independent yacht, with different layout solutions accommodating up to four guest cabins, each with its own private bathroom, offering a full cruising experience. Propulsion is provided by two Volvo Penta IPS D13 1350 engines, each delivering 1,000 hp, capable of pushing the vessel to a top speed of 30 knots and a cruising speed of 26 knots.
Both the exterior and interior design are by Lorenzo Berselli of Agon Studio. Once again, EXTRA Yachts presents innovative and highly flexible solutions, combined with an exclusive service designed to meet the needs of every client. A new way to experience the sea. A new way of being EXTRA.
