IYC had a ruling presence at MEDYS 2022

The 2022 Mediterranean Yacht Show in Nafplion, Greece, was a huge success with an impressive 90 boats on display.

MEDYS is the largest charter show in the Mediterranean drawing an international crowd of over 600 industry professionals. IYC had a ruling presence with a dazzling line-up of 17 yachts in a range of sizes, which together clocked an impressive total of 800 visits.

Comprising some of the most experienced and qualified charter management professionals in the industry, IYC boasted the strongest team presence at a yacht show to date, with 34 team members in attendance from around the world. Alongside an exceptional collection of charter yachts, IYC Charter Managers showcased the growing number of fresh and exciting charter opportunities available today, combining their expertise and knowledge with exceptional customer service to highlight top destinations and cruising itineraries. 

The charter managers worked hard to create a packed social schedule to showcase the quality of the IYC fleet and crew, with 13 different breakfast, lunch and dinner events hosted by IYC. This included soirees on some of the finest yachts: 155’10”/47.5m ISA Yachts OASIS, 102’/31.1m Cantieri Di Pisa OVAL, 144’11”/44.17m Heesen BLISS, 163’5”/49.8m Perini Navi S/Y ALMYRA II, 100’/34.47m Jongert S/Y AFAET, 181’1”/55.2m Admiral GECO, 99’1”/30.2m Posilipo ELVI, and 114’10”/35m Logos marine FUNKY CHOICE, to name a few.

The busy show calendar also contained chef competitions, social events and excellent networking, but the IYC fleet was the star of the show with quality yachts on display and top awards won.

COMPETITION WINNERS

Additionally the IYC fleet stood out in the competitions including the tablescaping competition and Chef's Competition.

Contestants in the Chef's Competition 2022 were invited to create vegan dishes inspired by traditional Greek meals. Divided into two categories based on daily charter rates, entrees were presented to a panel of judges to be tasted and evaluated.

Showcasing the talent and capability of charter crews, the Tablescaping Competition challenged participants to artistically decorate a dining table onboard. Participants were challenge to utilize the yacht’s own linen, china, tableware and decorative items, including candles and flowers. 

Planned by the CYBA, the Designer Water Contest is a fun way to raise awareness about water bottle waste. Participants created flavored drinking water in reusable, non-plastic containers and were judged on taste, creativity and presentation.
