Day one of the Rolex Capri Sailing Week was a  maxi-only affair on the Bay of Naples, with the weather mark positioned close to the tip of the Sorrento Peninsula.

The quayside in front of the Yacht Club de Monaco’s magnificent clubhouse on Quai Louis II was buzzing with activity today, as the crews gathered for the inaugural Monaco Swan One Design set about their final preparations.

 The CATAMARANS CUP International Regatta, a unique race of sailing catamarans, came to a successful close after one week of racing. This year, 36 catamarans signed up to compete welcoming 330 sailors from a total of 18 countries.

With a week to go to the inaugural Monaco Swan One Design, to be hosted by the Yacht Club de Monaco (YCM) from 26 to 31 March, a competitive fleet has been drawn from eight nations.

After four days of racing in the Rolex Middle Sea Race, 7 yachts have completed the race, 47 are still racing, and 50 yachts have now officially retired.

Buoyed by the success of the first four editions, the Yacht Club de Monaco is to expand the solar-powered boat event to embrace all clean energy sources.

The first Act of the 2017/2018 Monaco Sportsboat Winter Series got off to a cracking start, with winds up to 20-knots for the first two days, allowing the Race Committee to whet the appetites of the 80 sailors on the water with six races.

Knowing what they do about the intensity, and the extremely high level of competition within the 52 SUPER SERIES, the crew of double Olympian, Eduardo de Souza Ramos, considers their debut season to be about learning and experience building.

George David’s American Maxi Rambler 88 has taken Line Honours in the 2017 Rolex Middle Sea Race, crossing the finish line at the  Royal Malta Yacht Club at 21:48:09 CEST on Monday 23rd October, in an elapsed time of 2 days, 9 hours 48 minutes 9 seconds.

In 12 months, a fleet of magnificent yachts will start from the island of Lanzarote, in the Canaries, to rally to Christophe Harbour, a premier superyacht and resort community on the southeast peninsula of St Kitts, in the north of the Antilles.

The Grand Prix of the City of Venice reaches its 4th edition confirming significant growth from every point of view: compared to last year, the major luxury venician hotels involved in the event have risen from nine to twelve and the maxi yachts in the race from ten to thirteen.

The 2017 Rolex Sydney Hobart will be remembered for many things: an astonishingly quick pace, a new record and a reversal of fortune in the contest for line honours.

The German Hallberg-Rassy 37 “Thyra” has won the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers overall. She won out of 127 yachts on the starting list.

In two weeks' time, some of the most fascinating old ladies of the classic yachting circuit and a great line-up of experienced teams and sailors will reunite again on the Cote d'Azur for the 7th edition of the Gstaad Yacht Club Centenary Trophy.
