GMC which was established in 2011 , is accredited by Cyprus, Malta, Finnish Transport and Communications Agency (Traficom),
Liberia, Panama, Bahamas, Marshall Islands flag administrations, under the STCW 1978 Convention as amended, defining the requirements and procedures by which regulatory training and certification for seagoing mariners should be provided by Flag Administrations and their authorized training centers. All our courses certifications for sea personnel and shore personnel is accepted by all countries.
GMC Piraeus also provides in cooperation with Aboa Mare the following courses:
A) Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch with 15 months of studies and 12 months onboard &
B) Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch with 15 months of studies and 12 months onboard The courses are approved by Finnish Transport and Communications Agency (Traficom) and will lead to a Finnish Certificate of Competency, issued by Traficom.
Also at GMC Piraeus you can obtain CoC’s as Master /Chief Mate and Chief Engineer/Second Engineer approved by Cyprus Flag Administration.
GMC uses six bridge simulators equipped with real hardware and simulating environment and vessels adjusted to the world shipping market of today, Engine Room simulators, Oil/Chemical/ LNG MOSS Membrane /LPG – Cargo handling simulators, Ice navigation simulators, GMDSS maritime fixed station and is the only training center in Greece which provides ECDIS type specific training of FURUNO.
Furthermore, GMC is certified according to ISO 9001:2015 by ABS Quality Evaluations Headquarters Houston and Ansi-AsqNational Accreditation Board (ANAB) regarding the design, development and provision of training courses, provision of IMO Model courses and related to STCW and ILO requirements.
GMC is a fully equipped training center with high quality facilities, with a frame of reference and educational philosophy that is appropriate to the needs of the shipping market.
Our teaching staff is consisted of Master Mariners combining Academic background with extensive experience and knowledge in shipping and maritime education, University degree lecturers and executives who are actively working in the shipping market.
GMC is harmonized with the directives for adult’s education and Maritime Training and all of our courses are in accordance and continually updated to reflect latest IMO, STCW, ISM, TMSA, TOTS, International Standards and Practices for proper implementation.
