Debut GX42 enters final outfitting stage ahead of summer launch

The GX42 by GX Superyachts enters final outfitting, on track for its summer launch and global debut at Monaco this September.

The countdown is on to the launch of GX Superyachts’s debut yacht, the sleek, low-profile GX42. Build work is entering the final phase, meaning that the stunning new 42m yacht is on track to hit the water at the start of the summer. Progress has been captured in new images that show how a masterpiece is emerging from the scaffolding. This is a key milestone for the experienced team behind the GX Superyachts project, marking the final finishing stages that will ensure that the yacht exceeds the owner’s expectations.

Furniture and joinery are largely complete in the guest accommodation on the lower deck, as are the elegant bathrooms. The focus now is on completing the owner’s suite on the main deck and the spacious saloon which forms the social heart of the yacht.

On the sun deck, the teak deck is installed and awaiting its final caulking. Work is ongoing to build the furniture that will turn this area into a superb centre for entertainment. Sofas and tables will soon be fitted, as well as the large Jacuzzi that will grace this deck. In the wheelhouse below, electronic and electrical work is well under way.

“Build progress for the GX42 is right on target,” said Maurizio Magri, Chief Commercial Officer at GX Superyachts. “Ahead of a summer launch, we are entering the exciting final phase of detailed interior fit out, which means that we can finally see the finished yacht coming to life. The way this mould-breaking project has unfolded is a testament to the dedication and expertise of all those involved. It will be a moment of real pride when we unveil the boat at the Monaco Yacht Show for her worldwide debut”

The latest images show how Marco Casali’s vision for the interior of a relaxed family cruiser is taking elegant shape. The key is natural tones and materials that chime with the eco-conscious performance of the yacht, such as the rich walnut panelling for walls and cabinetry that contrasts with white leather and lacquer. Top quality Italian fabric gives crisp allure to the upholstery.

“To see the interior that we designed being brought to tangible life is deeply satisfying,” said Marco Casali. “We always set a high hurdle for superyacht finish and precise detailing, but this first yacht from GX Superyachts is something else again. It’s a real manifesto for quality.”

The first GX42 is destined to spend the first season of a long yachting career in the western Mediterranean. She will appear at the Monaco Yacht Show from 25-28 September, where she is expected to be one of the stars of her segment. Meanwhile, work continues on the development of GX Superyachts’ Voyager 38 and Voyager 45, as well as a development plan for a GX35 and GX50 to advance the line up.
