The appointment with the best sunset experience is arranged on Saturday 5th May 2019 in Lefkada and the Lefkas Marina will be there for the first time as the Big Sponsor of the event.
The 9th Green Halfmarathon, which is perhaps the most important sports event in the Ionian Islands with great appeal in Greece and abroad, has gained great recognition during the past years and that is why a four-digit number of participants will run in the 17km strip of land between the sea and the lagoon this year.
D-Marin and Lefkas Marina will offer the pasta party free of charge to the athletes, which will take place at the marina on the day of the race 5th May from 12:00 to 14:00. The officially certified by AIMS-IAAF route, electronic timing, passive back-end specialists, 2.5 km supplies offer, are just some of the features that have managed to raise the prestige of the race and the athletes’ appreciation. So, D-Marin with the Lefkas marina could not be absent as supporters of the event.
Lintegral part of the event, Lefkada’s Athletic Association “Filandros”, in collaboration with SEGAS of Western Sterea Hellas, the Municipality of Lefkada and the Ionian Islands Region, providing trained volunteers will coordinate their efforts to meet the needs of athletes.
Athletes can take part in four different routes: 1km (for children), 5km, 10km and 21km.

About Green Halfmarathon
The 1st Green Halfmarathon Road, which took place in 2011, was dedicated to Lefkadios Hern and for that reason a delegation of the Japanese Embassy in Greece visited the island and participated in the event. Since then, the organization has been carried out in the presence of the Japanese Embassy. This is the 9th consecutive event.
