Excitement is building as the picturesque island of Antiparos prepares to host the highly anticipated inaugural Cyclades Cup, Antiparos yacht race.
This event aims to fill a niche in by providing spectacular, never before seen in Greece, Superyacht racing. From the 14th to the 16th of June, the tranquil waters surrounding Antiparos will be churned by some of the world’s most stunning and impressive yachts.
Against the backdrop of the unmatched beauty of the Cycladic islands, the Cyclades Cup, Antiparos promises an unforgettable experience for participants and spectators alike. With thrilling races, social gatherings, and a celebration of the rich maritime culture of the region, this event is planned to captivate all who attend.
A collaboration between the newly formed Cyclades Cup and the venerable Yacht Club of Greece, this unique form of yacht racing, is being tested out for the first time in the heart of the Aegean Sea with the aim to bring the world of yachting to one of the last untouched races courses in the Mediterranean.
Ilia Rigas, principal of Cyclades Cup said “After taking part in the Superyacht racing circuit last year, we fell in love with the idea of bringing the world of yachting back to its birthplace. Antiparos, an upscale island far from the madding crowds is one of the most interesting, beautiful and relatively unknown islands the Mediterranean still has to offer. We are extremely proud to have the chance to bring the global world of yachting to this unique venue.”
Stratis Andreadis, Race Chairman from the Yacht Club of Greece said: “the Yacht Club of Greece has been developing sailing around our country for the better part of a century. We are thrilled to be part of this new venture bringing these spectacular and gorgeous yachts to this new uncharted, for the world of yacht racing, race course.”
