Columbus Yachts launches the Atlantique 38m Principessa Capricciosa, a sporty, aluminum-built yacht blending Italian GT-inspired elegance with high-efficiency performance below 300 GT.
Columbus Yachts announces the launch of the Atlantique 38-metre M/Y Principessa Capricciosa. The latest addition is the most compact model in the Atlantique line and the fourth unit to be launched after the two Atlantique 43s (M/Y Frette and M/Y Night Fury) and the Atlantique 47 M/Y Acqua Chiara. This range is based on authentic stylistic elements designed for Owners who view their journeys at sea and in nature as a continuous discovery.
The exterior lines and interior design were developed by the Milan-based studio Hot Lab, while the naval engineering was carried out by the shipyard. The design represents a blend of stylistic, architectural and functional elements dedicated to experiencing the sea and fully enjoying every moment on board. The spaces interact strongly with the marine environment, while the exterior lines are clean and elegant, with a touch of sportiness reminiscent of the Italian GT cars admired worldwide.
The hull silhouette recalls sailing yachts of the past, and the recessed stern area sits just 50 cm above the water.
The Columbus Atlantique 38 strikes the perfect balance between size, comfort and operational management; indeed, it is compact with a gross tonnage below 300 GT (299 GT). This yacht combines performance, range and high-quality interiors with a more efficient approach in terms of both crew and operating costs. Designing below this threshold also allows extensive customization possibilities while maintaining a functional and well-organized layout.
The hull and superstructure are built entirely in aluminium. With its sporty profile and refined interiors accommodating up to 12 guests in five cabins, the Columbus Atlantique 38m is the perfect combination of space optimization and comfort.
The layout includes four double guest cabins with en-suite bathrooms located on the lower deck. The owner’s suite is positioned forward on the main deck and features two bathrooms with a central shower, a walk-in wardrobe and a private terrace. The crew, consisting of six members plus the captain, is accommodated in four cabins located on the lower deck. The garage for a 5-metre tender and a jet ski is located at the stern on the starboard side.
The Columbus Atlantique 38 features a semi-planing hull and, thanks to two 2,000 hp MAN engines, can reach a top speed of 22 knots and a cruising speed of 19 knots. The client was introduced by Assia and Salvatore Mele of Mele Yacht. Modernity, elegance and sophistication are the ingredients that make the design of the Atlantique line a benchmark in the global yachting market.
