Canados confirms an exciting triple world debut at the upcoming 2017 Cannes Yachting Festival (12th – 17th of September): 428 Gladiator, 808 Maximus and 888 Evo on display.
The hull has been designed and engineered giving priority to safety, stability, rough water handling and comfort. As a result, the Gladiator 428 is the only boat in its category to come with a RINA A Class certificate. The massive bow flair will guarantee an all-weather dry ride while the 21º deep V at the transom allows running the boat at any speeds even in strong swell. Safety being one of our top priorities, Canados wanted a bullet proof yacht, thus the entire hull, structure and deck are made of vacuum bagged quadri-axial E-Glass vinyl-ester infused resin with balsa and Airex coring to offer maximum strength and rigidity. The boat comes standard with GPS, Chart plotter, auto-pilot, depth sounder, bow thruster and maneuvering joystick making it a true toy to handle.
As the vast majority of clients are running this kind of boats themselves, the standard equipment list also includes a “crystal cockpit” integrated dashboard. It is basically an intuitive touch screen integrating controls of all the boat electrical equipment including sound system, bilge pumps, blowers, lights, engines parameters and navigation electronics. The Gladiator is also the first boat equipped with the all new Volvo battery management system.
The entire cockpit from the swimming platform all the way to the cabin door is step less, allowing to safely and easily move in the boat underway with no risk.
The center console configuration, protected by the standard kevlar/carbon fiber hard-top is positioned in a way that allows installation of two face-to-face sofas. This configuration is a key element to social life as the owner operating his boat will be able to face his guests, friends or family while at the helm. Once anchored, the access to the foredeck is made via a central molded stairwell between the two “Café Racer” styled wind deflectors.
The exterior dinette and the large sun pad are protected by a bimini-top with two carbon fiber poles with tensioners. Under the sun-pad, large storage space allows to install two Seabobs and various toys.
The cabin is offered with a unique layout with unlimited choice of fabrics and wood veneer in the purest Canados spirit.
The Gladiator 428 is available with four engine packages:
Twin Volvo Penta stern drives D6 – 400 hp
Twin Cummins QSB6.7 – 550 hp with top systems surface drives
Triple of Quad outboard engines
Depending on the power package, the Gladiator 428 is capable of speeds from 38 up to 55 + knots.
CANADOS 808 MAXIMUS
Designed by Rome based Marco Casali, the mission he was assigned with was extremely clear. This new model had to retain the “modern- classic” DNA of the 70+ years old shipyard while introducing new solutions to offer all the amenities and usage plan of a 30-meter + yacht.
In short, Casali was requested to incorporate all the amenities and comfort usually found onboard much larger yachts above in a 24,85- meter yacht with a CE length at 23,25 meter.
Yachts of that size are only available in four cabin versions. Their layout always calls for lower deck master cabin aft, to immediate vicinity of the engine room and its noisier environment.
The Canados 808 Maximus is absolutely unique, offering a main deck owner’ suite, far from the engine room, while its full beam lower deck VIP suite offers even more volume than the best master cabin found in competitive yachts, thanks to its 6,25 m beam.
Where the Maximus is even more unique is in the fact she is available in a 5-cabin version, making it the only yacht that size offering such capacity. A unique factor for charter operated yachts.
The first 808 to be launched will be powered with twin V12 MAN – 1,900 hp that will allow the Maximus to offer a cruising speed in excess of 25 knots and a 30 knots top speed.
OPTIMIZATION OF THE AFT DECK
In order to offer a vast aft deck and a superyacht feeling, the entire concept of this space has been revisited.
The hydraulic gangway installed at the center will allow, upon request, for a much wider one which will also be adaptable to a wheelchair. Thus, the usual aft sofa convertible into an external dining area has been replaced by two lateral molded terraces. The two terraces partially suspended above the swimming platform (that is also a tender lift as per the standard equipment list) offering increased deck space.
The usual aft saloon sliding door has been replaced by a revolving glass veranda made of only two 180 degree panels. This veranda houses the dining room that can be either part of the interior space or the exterior by the movement of the two revolving glass panels.
FOREDECK LOUNGE AND SUN-PAD
The bow is equipped with a generous built-in lounge to enjoy breakfast or light lunch. This area is protected by the standard micro-perforated shade with 4 carbon fiber poles with tensioners.
Aft of the sofa are three flush glass panels. These panels are skylights flooding the master suite with natural light. To the front of the lounge is a sun-pad and another skylight above the sink of the split level owners’ bathroom down below.
DOUBLE MAIN DECK SALOON AND MAIN DECK DAY HEAD
While saloon of all similar sized yachts are equipped with one L shaped sofa, the Canados 808 Maximus is equipped with two face-to- face sofas, thanks to the relocation of the dining table aft. Thus, the two sofas allow for enhanced comfort and true social interaction. This configuration offers not only a central passage and perfect symmetry, it also allows installing a 60” LCD TV in the fore bulkhead.
Further forward to starboard is the custom made Boffi galley accessible from the saloon, from the exterior side passage for easier provisioning and easiness of crew work, and from the wheelhouse equipped with its own corner sofa. A day head is located to port side passed the lower deck access stairway.
MAIN DECK MASTER SUITE
The master suite is installed two steps down the saloon level on the main deck.
The usage of the entire volume of the roof and raised passageways allowed Marco Casali to create an incredible master suite that offers a 2,20-meter headroom. The signature Canados horizontal portholes offer unobstructed sea view while the skylights will flood the cabin with natural day light.
Being wide body, the master suite will also offer a side sofa and the lowest sound level in the category allowing the owner to enjoy taking a nap during navigation.
Three steps down from the cabin, the oversized walk in wardrobe is located in the passage to the bathroom, that will also offer the largest volume and shower in the category.
CANADOS 888 EVO
The descendant of the Canados 86’ which 46 units have been delivered now has its successor, the 888 EVO. A modern-classic by essence, the 888 EVO intends to be the most elegant vessel in the category. Retaining the 86’s purity of the lines, the Evo comes with redesigned portholes, floor to ceiling drop shaped side windows, foredeck lounge, open/close Boffi custom made galley and a transom less aft deck with reversed U shaped sofa.
The fly bridge has been enlarged compared to its predecessor and is now available with all lose furniture from Italian maker Talenti.
Like every Canados, the 888 Interiors are fully custom and the client will be able to choose any essence of wood, marble or Poltrona Frau leather. Using the exact same technical platform as the 86’ which track record is simply impeccable, the first EVO 888 will bear hull nuber 47 in the continuity of the 86’.
This first model interior décor was designed in house using white china lacquers, Poltrona Frau leather, natural satin oak, high gloass Ebony of Macassar and American walnut for the wood floor of the main deck. The marble is Strato Olympico.
With twin Caterpillar C32 Acert delivering 1,925 hp, the Canados 888 Evo top speed is in excess of 30 knots.
