BYD’s ATTO 2 Comfort and ATTO 2 DM-i redefine the compact SUV class

BYD introduces two compact SUVs, offering a choice between long-range pure electric driving with the ATTO 2 Comfort and exceptional hybrid efficiency with the ATTO 2 DM-i.

BYD expands its compact SUV range with two models that share the same philosophy of practicality and advanced technology, yet address different user needs. The fully electric ATTO 2 Comfort and the plug-in hybrid ATTO 2 DM-i rely on the company’s innovative Super Hybrid technology to deliver outstanding efficiency and long-distance capability.

ATTO 2 Comfort: The long-range electric proposition

The Comfort version is the top fully electric variant of the ATTO 2. It features a 64.8 kWh battery that offers an impressive WLTP range of 430 km, or more than 600 km in urban driving. BYD makes use of the e-Platform 3.0 architecture and the Cell-to-Body structure, which integrates the Blade Battery into the vehicle floor for improved rigidity and better space utilisation.

Its new electric motor delivers 204 horsepower and enables acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds with a top speed of 160 km/h. Charging performance is one of its strongest attributes. With 155 kW DC charging power it can go from 10 to 80 percent in 25 minutes, while the 11 kW onboard charger ensures a full charge in around seven hours.

Inside, the Comfort version offers premium materials, electrically adjustable and heated seats, a large 12.8 inch touchscreen and an upgraded voice control system. The luggage compartment reaches 450 litres, placing it among the largest in the segment.

ATTO 2 DM-i: The plug-in hybrid that redefines the category

The ATTO 2 DM-i brings Super Hybrid DM technology into compact dimensions. BYD claims up to 1,000 km of combined driving range and electric-only operation of up to 90 km in the Boost version, enabling daily commuting without any use of petrol.

The DM-i system is built on the Blade Battery, a highly efficient 1.5 litre petrol engine with a thermal efficiency of 43 percent and a high-output electric motor. Fuel consumption is just 1.8 L per 100 km, one of the lowest figures in the PHEV category.

Performance is equally strong, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h. The Boost version features an 18 kWh battery and a 6.6 kW AC charger. The V2L function with output up to 3.3 kW allows the vehicle to power external devices, a useful feature for outdoor activities or work on the go.

Cabin and technology: A shared philosophy with distinct character

Both models share a common design identity defined by clean surfaces, premium materials and generous interior space supported by the long 2,620 mm wheelbase. Highlights include the new gear selector position on the steering column, the panoramic sunroof available in specific versions and the 12.8 inch infotainment system with gesture control and OTA update capability.

A key feature is the new intelligent voice assistant with AI support and continuous dialogue ability. It goes beyond conventional voice commands and brings a more natural digital co-driver experience.

Safety and equipment

BYD equips both models with a complete suite of driver assistance systems. These include AEB, ACC or ICC, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert with braking intervention, a Driver Monitoring System and many additional functions. The ATTO 2 Comfort also offers an extra central front airbag that enhances overall passive safety.

Two solutions for different needs

The ATTO 2 Comfort is aimed at users who seek pure electric mobility without limitations. The ATTO 2 DM-i serves as a bridge between the electric future and everyday practicality, offering efficiency, comfort and remarkable combined range.

With the introduction of these models, BYD demonstrates that in the compact SUV category it does not simply add another option. It offers two distinct technological proposals, each tailored to a different lifestyle.
