Beneteau presented the new Gran Turismo 50 at boot Düsseldorf 2026, a luxury flagship redefining the modern sport cruising experience.
The global maritime community turned its attention to Düsseldorf, where Beneteau held the world premiere of the new Gran Turismo 50. This unveiling marks the pinnacle of the GT series’ renewal, with this specific model taking its place as the flagship, promising a fresh approach to the philosophy of modern sport cruising. The new 16-meter vessel is the result of a collaboration between two leading names in naval design: Andreani Design for the aesthetics and Bill Dixon for the naval architecture.
Design philosophy and exterior aesthetics
The design follows the Japanese principles of Kanso (simplicity) and Yūgen (subtle grace). The result is a silhouette with clean, dynamic lines free of unnecessary ornamentation, further enhanced by a slightly inverted bow and expansive glass surfaces that allow natural light to flood the interior. Beneteau focuses on connecting passengers with the marine environment by increasing outdoor living spaces by 30% compared to the previous generation.
Innovations on deck
On the main deck, the modular cockpit features fold-down bulwarks that extend the floor towards the sea, creating a “floating beach club” feel. The bow is not limited to a simple sunpad; it has been designed with deep, secure seating reminiscent of a bowrider layout, offering an additional private relaxation area. The interior layout is available in two or three-cabin configurations, with the full-beam owner’s suite standing out for its panoramic windows and the use of premium materials, such as Alcantara, which highlight the vessel’s luxury character.
The Alpine collaboration
One of the most intriguing aspects of the presentation was the Alpine Limited Edition. Finished in the iconic signature blue of the French automotive brand, this version features carbon fiber details and the Alpine logo on the black hardtop, marrying the aesthetics of speed with maritime luxury. On the technical side, the Gran Turismo 50 is equipped with twin Volvo Penta IPS650 engines, delivering a total of 960 hp. The IPS propulsion system, combined with Dixon’s new hull design, allows the boat to reach top speeds exceeding 31 knots, while maintaining a steady cruise at 22 knots.
Technological excellence
Beneteau’s Ship Control technology remains at the heart of the operation, allowing full control of all onboard systems from a central touchscreen or via mobile devices. With this model, the French shipyard does not simply add another boat to its fleet; it redefines the express cruiser category for 2026. Combining the performance of a sport boat with the comfort of a luxury residence, the Gran Turismo 50 rightfully emerged as one of the protagonists of this year’s event in Düsseldorf.
