The design team worked closely with the owner who was actively involved throughout the project. Audacewas entirely custom-designed and built for an expert sailor and experienced superyacht client who intendsto live aboard and explore all the world’s seas. In fact, he spent all of the 2019 season cruising theMediterranean.

The owner tailored his yacht to his personal requirements on many levels with extensive changesimplemented throughout the design and construction process. As a result of its strong background andbroad skill-base, he commissioned Floating Life not simply to design the craft but to act has hisrepresentative and project manager throughout her construction and future developments.Floating Life’s technical department has developed a range of long-range hulls, the K–Series, designedusing innovative and highly sophisticated fluid dynamics software and tested in the naval tank atGothenburg. Floating Life offers owners the possibility to completely customise the superstructure on a common hullplatform. Every design is unique, one-off and developed in tandem with the owner.Audace is an unconventional expedition yacht, complete with unique and ingenious features, such as aseparate owner’s deck, a private penthouse-style apartment with its own saloon and compact galley, towering 15 metres above the sea in the place of the usual fly bridge. What really sets this deck apart, however, is the fact that it is only accessible by a stairs on the upper deck, guaranteeing the owner theutmost seclusion. It includes a master stateroom, his and her bathrooms, a private saloon and al frescoJacuzzi.

Last but not least, the food and beverage lift in the pantry connects to the galley, for maximum convenience. With regard to Audace’s build, her welding was upgraded to reduce the amount of filler used on the hull byup to 80%. This move has been Rina approved and is also eco-friendly as filler is not recyclable.

The hull features black detailing and both civil and railway paint was used.

Audace’s guests are accommodated in four double cabins, two of which are on the main deck and two onthe lower deck. Those on the lower deck have private fold-down balconies, offering their occupantsexceptional first-hand contact with the sea.Audace also has huge communal areas. The main deck alone features a half-length open space that, thanks to its extremely flexible layout , can be used for a variety of different purposes. The huge sun padarea, for instance, can double as a stowage area for her 9m tender. An entertainment system, bar andplentiful seating can also create a comfortable yet elegant lounge there too.

On the main deck, two huge red cranes can hoist up to 9t, and thus can easily move the 9m tender stowedaft and the Land Rover Defender stowed forward. There is also a spacious sea platform on the lower deck which opens into a 55 sqm soundproofedentertainment area. Another unusual feature of this deck is its huge professional kitchen which can servea very large number of guests and be reached through a side door. The bottom deck is taken up entirely by the technical area and includes a walk-in technical tunnel thatallows crew to move along the length of the yacht, without bothering guests. It also has enormous cold rooms for food and wine plus a control room and engine rooms that offerunprecedented space and comfort for a vessel of this size.Audace’s lavish storage capabilities and her 5,000 nm range guarantee that she can spend extended periodsat sea as her owner intended.
