This year the International Meeting of Contemporary Art “Art-Athina 2015” celebrates its 20th edition! The greatest art event in Greece will open at the Faliro Pavilion (TaeKwonDo Stadium) on Thursday 4 June and will run from Friday 5 June until Sunday 7 June.
Art-Athina is one of the oldest international art fairs collectively organised as well as firmly established at the conscience of the art-loving audience. The 20th “Art-Athina” takes place in a period of significant changes in the artistic field of Greece and forecasts a new era for contemporary art in Greece. The Hellenic Art Galleries Association, which instituted Art-Athina in 1993, as well as Euromare which organised the exhibition for the third consecutive year, have prepared a commemorative event honoring the history of the art fair.
The Greek galleries and the galleries from abroad give, as always, their unique and vital aspect in Art-Athina. 41 galleries from 13 countries provide a complete picture of the contemporary artistic creation worldwide. It is also worth noting the increase in the numbers of participants from abroad, which this year reached the 17, a 50% increase from 2013. In addition, cultural institutions such as museums, foundations, art publications and media, will contribute to shaping a comprehensive view of the artistic landscape of our times.
