The Campania-based brand continues its season of success with two new deliveries to two foreign owners, plus four more units nearing launch: a Sherpa 60, the storied line of which this is the sixteenth unit, is now ready to cruise around the Balearic Islands, while the fifth Sherpa 80 unit was recently handed over to her Turkish owner, thanks in part to intermediation by dealer Tezmarine.
Arcadia Yachts continues to win over foreign owners too, and celebrates the summer with the delivery of a Sherpa 60 in Spain and a Sherpa 80 in Turkey.
Sherpa 60 is a refined 18.67-metre yacht with a layout that prioritises the conviviality of the aft cockpit, which at 5.6 metres wide and with a surface area of 55 square metres is rightly described as a water’s edge terrace. The shipyard has designed various different configurations for this boat depending on the intended use. Flexibility has proved once again to be the winning feature of this project and in fact this unit, at the owner’s request, will have a totally new layout with three cabins, including the owner’s cabin in the bow, and two bathrooms (one for the master suite). The level of service is best-in-class too, offering the possibility of accommodating two crew members in their own cabin. The yacht’s long-range cruising credentials are excellent thanks to two Volvo Penta IPS 600 units (or alternatively two IPS 700 or 800 units), delivering a cruising speed of 17 knots and a top speed of 22 knots with the maximum engine configuration available.
The boat will soon be cruising in the beautiful waters around the Balearic Islands, not least thanks to the work of Isabella Moncada of Moncada Yachts, who contributed her insights into the customer’s wish list and acted as an intermediary with the shipyard.
The sale of the Sherpa 80, a model that’s winning over more and more fans in various parts of the world, was brokered by Tezmarine, the Brand Representative for Turkey and a consolidated partner of the Campania-based shipyard. With a length of 24 metres and 7 metres in the beam, the yacht stands out primarily for a total liveable surface area of 220 square metres and the almost 65-square-metre cockpit, which provides direct access to the stern platform down a spectacular series of steps. Completely unobstructed and multi-flexible at heart, the cockpit offers the possibility of installing solutions in the dining room involving sliding glass and air conditioning, so that this fantastic area can be enjoyed in any weather conditions. The interior design, developed in tandem with the owners and Milan-based firm HOT LAB, achieves seamless continuity with the exteriors, featuring refined furnishings and decor characterised by a pared-down style and a discreet sense of elegance, all contained in volumes amplified by simple geometries that make the most of the available space to offer the maximum possible comfort.
As always, the hull and propulsion system were designed in parallel to optimise performance in terms of both consumption and comfort. Sherpa 80 has a top speed of over 23 knots and a range of 1,400 nautical miles at 10 knots. To minimise the environmental impact of this boat too, like all the brand’s models, it is fitted with solar panels that provide around 2-3 kW of clean energy, as well as with low-power devices and LED lighting.
“These deliveries are just one of various factors at play in a truly hectic period for us,” said Ugo Pellegrino, who in 2008 launched a brand that would revolutionise the industry. “Soon we will also be presenting the new A96, confirming our desire to bring even more innovation to the sector and responding to the evolving concept of well-being that we’ve identified in many owners. Work on the A96 continues at a sustained pace and the yacht will be given its world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival.”
As can be seen, Arcadia Yachts continues its journey in two parallel directions, on the one hand launching new models and on the other consolidating the success of the brand’s existing range, which is making inroads into more and more geographical areas. So much so that negotiations are under way with various dealers to extend the network into still relatively unexplored areas.
