Aquila Catamarans makes show debut with the 42 coupe at Boot Düsseldorf

Brand gearing up for accelerated growth across Europe

Aquila Catamarans will showcase its 42 Coupe at this year’s boot Düsseldorf (17 – 25 January) marking the brand’s debut appearance at the world’s largest indoor boat show. This first showing at boot Dusseldorf underscores the rising demand for Aquila’s power catamarans across Europe and reflects the brand’s expanding presence in the region, supported by a significantly strengthened European dealer network. Aquila will showcase its 42 Coupe model, a power catamaran that blends advanced foiling technology for more efficient and sustainable cruising with excellent seakeeping ability. Its generous beam delivers remarkable interior volume for a yacht of this length, along with a host of features and benefits unique to power catamarans.

Visitors to boot Düsseldorf will have the opportunity to explore the Aquila 42 Coupe’s innovative carbon fiber Aquila Hydro Glide® foil system, which comes as standard and delivers up to 40% greater fuel efficiency compared with traditional monohulls. At a cruising speed of 30 knots (with Volvo DPI 440hp engines), the foiling technology enables ranges of approximately 500 nautical miles (depending on load and sea state conditions), achieving 0.7-0.6 km per liter (1.5-1.6 statute miles per gallon). The system will be fully on display at the exhibition, offering attendees a rare view of the engineering behind these performance gains.

The 42 Coupe seamlessly blends the open-air appeal of a sport boat with the comfort and refinement of a luxury yacht. Its generous 15-foot 11-inch beam creates more lifestyle space compared to monohulls of comparable length, while a single-level layout ensures a smooth flow from salon to cockpit. An expansive electric opening sunroof and large hull side windows flood the interior with natural light, enhancing the sense of space and openness. Accommodation includes two private cabins with en-suite bathrooms and separate showers, providing comfort and versatility for both day cruising, overnight boating or extended cruising.

The production of the 42 Coupe provides significant benefits for safety and efficiency. It uses a one-shot mold for the hull, deck, and coach roof for a consistent finish and structural integrity, whilst all bulkheads and stringer systems are vinyl ester resign infused. Meanwhile, the hardtop mounting to deck is an integrated system for added strength at higher speeds. The 42 Coupe on display at boot Düsseldorf features the Volvo Penta D6 440 HP Dual Propellor sterndrive. The model is also available with dual Mercury Verado V10 400 HP outboard engines or dual Mercury Verado V10 425 HP outboard engines.

Jean Raas, Chief Product Officer at Aquila Catamarans, said: “There are many practical benefits to owning a catamaran, as well as the benefit of being more sustainable to protect the marine environments we love. We are excited to bring the 42 Coupe to boot Düsseldorf, where visitors can see the unique design and build quality of Aquila models up close. Our aim is to continuing growing the popularity of power catamarans in Europe, along with our European dealer network, and educate potential buyers on all the benefits of this vessel type.”

Alain Raas, Global Brand Director for Aquila Catamarans, said: “boot Düsseldorf provides an important opportunity to further connect with European boaters and industry professionals. Our team will be on hand to discuss our complete product range, from our recent expansion into sailing catamarans to our fishing-focused Molokai line, sport models, coupes, and our yacht and luxury segments.”
