Ιn the port of Naples Palumbo Group laucnhed two yachts whos hydrodinamics, engineering and exterior design have been completely handled by Hydro Tec-Sergio Cutolo: the second hull of Columbys 40 Sport Hybrid series with interiors designed by Hot Lab and the new Columbus 57m Classic with interiors designed by 4C-Francesca Cianficconi.
These two yachts are characterized by the use of cutting edge technologies and original aesthetics, who inspired many new concepts across the industry, as happened for the 40SH.
The first 40SH was presented in 2013 and has won many international awards both for interior and exterior design and for its low environmental impact. This is due to the presence of the hybrid propulsion system and the highly efficient hydrodynamic characteristics that, together, create a particularly low fuel consumption.
Thanks to these attributes the Columbus 40SH received RINA Green Plus Platinum certification and Environmental Award 2014 from the UIM. The first yacht in the SH line was also the first yacht which has been recognized by the RINA “Hybrid Propulsion” certification. Since its debut, these characteristics have made it a successful project that today, slightly over a year after the launch of the first unit, sees the second yacht grace the seas.
The second yacht launched by Palumbo Group is the 57 m Classic, a displacement yacht that has been a real challenge for the design and engineering studio lead by Sergio Cutolo.
The owner requested many solutions not easily integrated on a boat of 57 meters, such as five enclosed decks plus an ample sundeck. These challenges were discussed in depth by a multifaceted team within the studio, consequently, the designers and naval engineers interacted continuously, developing solutions where the design and technical aspects could work hand in hand. This innovative feature allows Hydro Tec to develop projects smoothly and react quickly and decisively to any changes requested by the owner or yard.
Hydro Tec begins 2005 with a great professional satisfaction, but without exaggerating, we can say that this is just the beginning. By the summer, in fact, three different important launches, bearing the Hydro Tec signature, will be celebrated. They are, the Darwin 107’, the Darwin 102’ and Darwin 86’, three new models of the popular series whose Design and Engineering is made by Hydro Tec for Cantiere delle Marche all these boat will have interiors designed by Studio Design PFA.
Five different launches in a year is certainly a very important milestone especially if it is a year when the economic recovery has just appeared, thus creating a positive outlook for the future. Moving focus onto the future, Hydro Tec is currently working with Cantiere delle Marche on the second unit of the Darwin 102’, with the naval architecture and engineering for the Nauta Air 108’ as well as the upcoming Nauta Air 111’.
Hydro Tec has also embarked on the design of the new M40 Explorer for Mondomarine, which has already celebrated the cutting of thefirst plate. For this boat under construction Hydro Tec has developed the exterior design, the marine engineering and the naval architecture while the interiors are by Fossati Design Bureau.
2015 is an important year for Hdyro Tec, not only for the excellent professional results, but, also, because the studio on July will celebrate its 20th birthday. We will celebrate this event with a new website and a commemorative brochure in which there will be the many projects carried out so far.
