How did your relationship with yacht design begin, and what fascinates you about this field of architecture and design?
Our initiation into yacht design was a natural evolution of our broader experience in luxury hospitality and cruise ship interiors. The allure of yachts lies in their uniqueness: they are intimate, highly personalized spaces that move across the world’s seas. What fascinates us most is the challenge of designing a floating lifestyle—where architecture, functionality, engineering, and emotion converge.
What are the greatest challenges of translating your architectural philosophy into yacht design?
We have to think in layers; to consider structural limitations, safety regulations, technical systems, as well as the special characteristics of different materials and various construction details- all without ever compromising elegance. Translating our philosophy into yacht design requires creativity, multi-purpose solutions, and above all, close collaboration with naval architects and engineers.
What defines the design signature of AMK when it comes to yachts?
Our design language is defined by sophistication, innovation, and a deeply personalized approach. We use materials in unique ways, blending and harmonizing different elements into cohesive concepts. Every project is tailored— immersive, thoughtful, and highly exclusive. At the heart of our process is collaboration. We work closely with each client, listening carefully to their needs and dreams, which are then transformed into a design that captures the clients’ individuality and vision.
