The AB 130 completes its final sea trials, blending 41-knot speeds with total luxury, just ahead of its official global debut.
The Italian shipyard AB Yachts, a member of the Next Yacht Group, is preparing for the official debut of the AB 130, a vessel that promises to redefine the boundaries of speed and luxury at sea. This “Fast Sport Yacht” is not merely an addition to the shipyard’s fleet, but a statement of technological superiority, blending explosive power with the comfort of a modern loft on the water.
Final countdown to delivery
The vessel is currently in a critical phase, undergoing exhaustive final sea trials. These tests aim to validate its top-tier performance and ensure the absolute reliability of all advanced systems, just before its official delivery to the owner, who is expected to take charge of the yacht soon for its inaugural voyages.

Performance that defies the rules
The heart of the AB 130 beats with the power of three MTU 16V2000 M96L engines, producing a total of 7,800 hp. Combined with the advanced MJP waterjet propulsion system, the yacht reaches an impressive top speed of 41 knots. The most notable aspect of its performance is the ability to maintain a cruising speed of 35 knots with absolute stability and a complete absence of vibration, thanks to the use of lightweight composite materials such as carbon fiber and GRP.
A 100-square-meter floating terrace
The exterior design focuses on immediate contact with the marine environment, culminating in the spectacular Beach Club that extends over 100 square meters. By deploying the side wings, the stern transforms into a massive “terrace on the sea,” featuring a pool and an ingenious float-in garage system for the tender. A strategic advantage of this model is its extremely shallow draft of just 1.3 meters, allowing access to pristine coves and shallow waters where other yachts of this size cannot reach.
Interior architecture and hospitality
Inside, a sense of freedom prevails through an “open space” philosophy. Massive floor-to-ceiling glass windows flood the salon with natural light, offering 360-degree panoramic views. The yacht is configured to accommodate 10 guests in five luxurious cabins, with dedicated quarters for a crew of five. The flybridge serves as the perfect spot for al fresco dining, featuring a retractable roof that adjusts according to weather conditions.
The epitome of “made in Italy”
The AB Yachts 130 is a masterpiece of Italian design, offering a unique experience for adrenaline seekers who refuse to sacrifice sophistication. With the first hull of the series now in the final stretch before beginning its career on the high seas, the Viareggio-based shipyard once again confirms its dominance in the high-performance superyacht category.
