The first 31m (102ft) Wally Cento hull has been completed and released from its female mould at Green Marine. The black hull was turned upside down and moved into one of four recently commissioned 38m (125ft) ovens at Green Marine's new UK facility in Hythe.

Designed by Judel Vrolijk, the hull has been built to a very high specification using materials and processes usually used for Grand Prix racing yachts. "We are working on a very tight schedule to complete this Cento on time and expect to launch it in July 2012," says Green Marine project manager Simon Smith. "Every single task is planned and monitored on a daily basis. Our experienced team of boatbuilders have delivered another top quality product on time."

 

Owner's representative James Stagg added: "The team here have had their work cut out with an aggressive structural fit-out schedule. They have managed to meet the key milestone of fitting the deck and rolling over on time this was no mean feat and we are very happy with the workmanship."
The boat will now be faired outside while the builders carry on installing secondary structures inside the hull.  The system and interior fit-out will start before Christmas.
